Digital history course project

In the second class of the digital history course. We focused on working with data, which is the largest part of the course project.

We started by reviewing two readings involving our case study of the Legacies of British Slave-ownership. Appendices 1 & 2 of the book about that project provide insights into prosopography and database development. As we reviewed those readings, I explained terms that were not yet familiar to the students. And we explored concepts around collecting and organization data about individuals.
